An Oregon tax power of attorney form is provided by the Oregon Department of Revenue and is used to appoint a tax representative. If a person doesn’t want to handle their state taxes by themselves, this form will allow an attorney-in-fact to receive important documents on their behalf and file their taxes with the Department of Revenue. Although it is not legally required that the principal’s representative be a certified accountant or other qualified individual, it is highly recommended. The principal can set restrictions on which tax matters the attorney-in-fact can handle as well as specific years they wish the representative to handle. This form can also be used in addition to a previously executed tax power of attorney, the principal just has to authorize it at the bottom of the document.
