A Kentucky minor power of attorney form permits a parent to designate an agent to make healthcare and educational decisions on behalf of their child. This agreement is temporary and is usually established for periods during which the parent will not be present due to work, education, illness, military service, or other reasons. While Kentucky statutes do not specify how long a guardianship arrangement may last, it is common for a minor power of attorney to remain in effect for six to 12 months. This document can only be revoked by the legal parent/guardian who authorized it.
