Real Estate Power of Attorney Louisiana Form – PDF – Word
The Louisiana real estate power of attorney is used by individuals seeking to authorize another party to handle their real estate matters. The person delegating authority, known as the “principal,” must choose their representative carefully as this individual will generally be allowed to purchase, sell, and lease property on their behalf. This type of authorization is commonly used by homeowners and licensed brokers who need an agent to manage their property transactions, or by those attempting to purchase property but are physically absent when required to sign legal documents. In all cases, the principal must define the representative’s legal powers and term of authorization by choosing the applicable options in the power of attorney.
Laws – CC 2985
Signing Requirements – Lousiana has no specific signing requirement for power of attorney forms. It is recommended that the principal sign in the presence of a notary public and two (2) witnesses (CC 2993).
