A Nebraska real estate power of attorney is a document that an individual (the “principal”) can use to appoint an agent to represent them in making decisions regarding their property. In most cases, this type of contract is used to handle a real estate closing or the sale of a property; however, it may also be used to appoint a representative to make other property decisions, such as maintenance, dealing with tenants, and renovations.
The power of attorney becomes effective once the document has been signed and notarized. The contract’s term, if not defined by the termination date, will either terminate with the principal’s incapacitation or will be durable and only terminate if the principal dies or revokes the agent’s authority.
