A Utah minor child parental guardianship power of attorney is used to delegate guardianship duties for the care of a minor child including educational and healthcare decisions for a term of up to six months. If the principal would like the arrangement to be longer than the six-month period, he or she will need to make another document when the power of attorney expires. Guardianship duties may remain effective when the principal is disabled so long as the applicable option is selected on the document.
